Just over a year ago I posted about the major upgrade that we had gotten to our internet here, even though price-wise we were still getting fleeced - US$45 for a 1 Terabyte data package (and this was the basic package!) that offered 1Mbps speeds maximum. At some point this year those fine folks at the mobile network that was providing this service (which they named SmartBiz) decided to change tactics by getting rid of that and introducing the new and much more ridiculous sounding SmartSuite service, which is just another collection of small data bundles tagged with ridiculous prices. Same speeds too: SmartLite - 50 Gigabytes US$30 SmartPlus - 75 Gigabytes US$40 SmartMax - 100 Gigabytes US$50 SmartFlex - 200 Gigabytes US$70 SmartPro - 400 Gigabytes US$99 SmartUltra - 800 Gigabytes US$170 Not even their top tier package sniffs terabyte territory, haha. Hello hello there, how are you keeping? I am back in the swing of things now that the walkthrough for Pokemon Blazing Emerald is done, it's available for anyone who has been looking for one. Episodes 4, 5 and 6 of the WWE 2K16 Universe Mode series were posted during the weekend, covering Week 2, you can check those out also. My plan is to upload this series on the weekends while the music series ( House of Sounds , Counting Electric Sheep , Tuning for Tunes and A Room Full of Ticking Clocks ) become weekly and the podcasts (Comic Book Chronicles and The MultiMangaverse ) are released when they are ready. Asterix Episode 4 is my next major release, I can resume work on that and aim for next week for the episode release. Hello from the Battle Frontier! How have you been otherwise? Hopefully you've been doing okay. Yes, as you can tell from the screenshot I am not quite in the belly of the beast but I am now deep in the post-game of Pokemon Blazing Emerald . This is the portion of the game which I was not looking forward to because it's mainly focused on competing in all the facilities at the Battle Frontier so that I get both Silver and Gold Symbols in order to trigger a couple of Legendary-related events and complete the Pokedex. I've never been into the competitive scene of the Pokemon fandom so places like the Battle Frontier and other areas like it which have appeared in latter generations were stuff I would just have a first-time look through then leave alone because it's just battles galore in the same spot and I'll get bored with that in no time. It's probably super, super, SUPER late to say this but Happy 2025! I hope that you've been keeping well so far, and that you will forgive me for the silence since my previous post near the end of last year. My aim to get back into the audio content in January flopped because I just couldn't squeeze in the time for it in between the offline family business work and the walkthrough for Pokemon Blazing Emerald which I still haven't finished yet. I've also been helping out my cousin Val on her Whatsapp Channel, which she uses mainly to promote her appearances on the radio station she works for. My idea for the channel was to make it a mini radio station where each day of the week you'll find a Top 5 Songs of the Day DJ set posted. Hello hello, how have you been? I had hoped to get back in the swing of things content-wise in November but no luck and now that we are smackdab in the middle of the holidays I thought it would be best to use this time that I've got to pop in and suggest that you and I should pick up where we left off in the new year. Either in the first week or second week of January. It's been a super busy year for me, which is why there hasn't been a lot of content and for that I'm sorry. If you go back to my first post of the year you can tell how hyped I was for 2024, it looked like it would be a year where I could make up for the crappy 2023 that we had here. But around February and March things got hectic and I had to focus most of my time and energy into the work that I do with my dad and my brother. Hey, how have you been? Good I hope, because it has not been super fun over here since my last post. We've been experiencing back to back extended "loadshedding" power cuts for a few weeks now, that's why I have not posted anything since the WWE 2K16 Universe Mode episodes . Usually it's either you get the power cuts that happen from morning to some time in the afternoon or the power cuts that happen from the afternoon to some time at night, but with these extended cuts it's been from around 6am to around 9pm almost daily. Today was a day for the morning power cut, which was a bit of a surprise because when power goes in the morning you just expect it to be yet another long day of no power. What sucks also is that there isn't a proper schedule that people can follow so they can plan around these power cuts (in the past there would be scheduled published in the newspapers). How's it going? I hope you've been keeping well. There's some more good news that I've got to share with you this time which is related to content that I've wanted to share but haven't been able to because of long-running internet troubles. As of a couple of weeks ago we've got some decent internet at home and my hope is that this will allow me to flex even a little bit when it comes to putting out content, whether it's the current content like the walkthroughs or the audio series or the type of content that I am about to talk about. Hello hello, how's it going? I have some good news to share with you, something which I hope will be a nice way to end the week. Behold... It took a while but here we are with the internet upgrade that I had been hoping for. That's the router in the photo above, sitting on one of our old TVs in the dining room. Bought from one of the local mobile networks for $200 USD and monthly we'll be paying $45 for a 5mbps semi-unlimited data package (the actual data cap 1TB but nobody here will be live-streaming or online all day everyday so I doubt we'll reach that cap...unless of course someone decides to save all their super downloading for the days just before the subscription ends.
