Checking In (Tuesday 16 June 2026)
Hello hello and Happy Tuesday. I had some free time over the weekend to finish up Weekend Bonus Stage 15 and 16, so please look forward to them this upcoming weekend. The work load at the office has eased up a little bit and if that can continue then I hope it'll afford me more free time to get busy with the other content. None of them have been cancelled or shelved, I've just been struggling to make time for them to return to regular rotation. The ideal flow would be to have Weekend Bonus Stage coming out on the weekends and other series coming out during the week and monthly. Sounds like a full-time job, eh? Well, compared to my current "9-to-5" that's a full-time job I'd at least enjoy doing haha but I'm not there yet unfortunately. It's become less fun to be a content creator these days because there's not just bigger and more popular creators dominating the space but there's AI to deal with too and platforms with algorithms that can keep creators from growing, unless of course you're just putting out the same "clickbait" type of stuff that many others are doing. That can get picked up and boosted and what-do-you-know, you've gained a bunch of followers (real ones or otherwise). Trouble with internet access has been my main struggle as a creator and that kept me from being consistent enough to build a healthy audience that can and wants to support the work, enough to justify going full-time. The internet situation has improved but the content creator space has changed so much now as compared to the old days of 2019. How do you get ahead and grow organically as a creator without being the latest talking head in what's left of the independent media field, or without being a big TikToker/YouTuber/livestreamer/influencer? I'd like to know because I don't have any interest in being either of those kinds of creator. I'm happy just putting out the type of content someone can check out if/when they need a break from the news or social media or the massive world of "conspiritainment". Maybe that's the type of content people will look for as time goes on.
That's my little update, apologies for the silence. Thanks for your patience and sticking with me. Another update that I can share with you is about Ko-fi. I've got a page there now and hopefully it will serve as an alternative to the major disappointment that Patreon has become. There are 24 patrons under my account but only one of them is someone I know of who has been an actual supporter all along. The rest are unknown free member accounts that I've yet to hear from: no comments, no feedback, not even some spam which I might get a chuckle from. I've talked about this before and here we are in June 2026 with no change. So I'm giving Ko-fi a try and I hope you'll check it out and let me know what you make of it.
Enjoy the rest of your week and take care.
