Howdy, apologies for no posts since Friday. I've been dealing with a nasty round of flu that caught me over the weekend. Runny nose, terrible cough, feeling sluggish, the usual. But I'm a little better today and should be a-okay by the end of the week. Enjoy your Tuesday and take care.

Checking In (Friday 6 September 2024)

Hello hello, how's it going? I have some good news to share with you, something which I hope will be a nice way to end the week. Behold... It took a while but here we are with the internet upgrade that I had been hoping for. That's the router in the photo above, sitting on one of our old TVs in the dining room. Bought from one of the local mobile networks for $200 USD and monthly we'll be paying $45 for a 5mbps semi-unlimited data package (the actual data cap 1TB but nobody here will be live-streaming or online all day everyday so I doubt we'll reach that cap...unless of course someone decides to save all their super downloading for the days just before the subscription ends. Hmm...). For any of you reading this and shaking your head at the price and the speeds for that price, I totally understand because I know it's a rip off but that's the best package being offered currently outside of what Elon Musk's Starlink is apparently asking for (lowest price is ab...
