Checking In (Thursday 2 July 2026)

Hello hello x9000. I didn't have gameplay footage from Adventure Red Chapter done in time for last weekend (this episode is just over an hour and 10 minutes long because it covers the remaining chapters of The Circle's Book 1) and so I thought I'd continue on Monday. Monday came along and we lost power. Had no power until yesterday (Wednesday), which leaves today and tomorrow to get everything ready for this weekend.

Shout out to Hacksrespairman. He fixes up and/or completes Pokemon ROM hacks that have either been abandoned, left incomplete for some reason or could use a nice clean up. I've written walkthroughs for his updates of Pokemon (Old) White, Pokemon Azure Horizons and the second region in the original version of Pokemon Light Platinum. Very recently he released updates for Pokemon Light Platinum and a fan-done (but creator approved) remake called Pokemon Light Platinum+. There's even a DS remake project. I am really behind as far as updating the walkthroughs for (Old) White and Azure Horizons because Hacksrespairman put out new fixes for both a while back and now that he's worked on polishing up a pair of Pokemon Light Platinum games that's 4 walkthroughs which need to be updated haha, good Christ. The reason I haven't been writing walkthroughs for current games (Pokemon Righteous Red is the most recent game that I've written one for) is because I've realised that some of those older walkthroughs need to be redone. They aren't as detailed as a walkthrough that I would put out now, with help from documentation and/or hack tools like map editors, Trainer editors and Pokemon editors. Those older walkthroughs were written at a time when I didn't have documentation or knew how to use hack tools, so information such as Pokemon encounters was mostly made up of Pokemon that I was lucky enough to find. There's a good chance that a map editor will be able to read the game data of these older hacks and give out the actual Pokemon encounter information and make the walkthroughs much more accurate. It has certainly helped now during the updating of the Pokemon Adventure Red Chapter walkthrough (fortunately there's some documentation available for this game, thanks to Lunos). Once the playthrough for Pokemon Team Rocket Edition is done, I'll pick up one of the other hacks that need an updated walkthrough and feature those on Sundays while work on Pokemon Adventure Red Chapter continues on Saturdays.

I've added a few of my walkthroughs to the shop on my Ko-fi page. More will be added as well as the DJ sets and the podcasts. I like the fact that for those walkthroughs which get updated I'll be able to modify the item entry in the shop without needing to add the updated walkthrough as a new item. I'm still on Patreon for the time being but there won't be any posting going on there, and eventually I'll close down that account. Maybe some of those unknown free member patrons will get the memo.

The Queen Val daily sets return next week. The break from doing them has helped and the workload at the "office" hasn't been too much (for now?) so it's a chance to try and ease back into doing stuff outside of Weekend Bonus Stage. If you need to catch up, be sure to dive into the audio archives.

Something else that's on the way is what I call Allen's Gaming History [Extended Mix]. If you're a fan/contributor/supporter of James E. Pilato's Media Monarchy then you probably tune in for the Tuesday editions of Morning Monarchy, which is themed around tech news. For some time now there's been a little segment on the show called #MonarchyGamingHistory, which covers a video game-related event from the past. The guy "Allen from Zim" who is credited with helping out on that segment is Your Truly, believe it or not haha. As cool as #MonarchyGamingHistory is, it's not a guarantee that it will be there every Tuesday. Sometimes there's just a lot of other news to cover (some maybe spilling over from Monday) or there are Tuesdays or weeks when there's no broadcast (such as this week, likely due to the big holiday weekend coming up in America). Gaming History Ext. is meant to make up for such occasions and include all the links which I would've sent in for the segment but don't get featured. My basic idea for it is that it will be in video form and weekly, released either on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays so that you can get to hear it as the #MonarchyGamingHistory segment on Morning Monarchy first. Episode 0 will cover what I had prepared for Tuesday, I only found out later that there's no broadcast this week. I hope you'll check it out.

Just trying to get back into the groove, with the hope of picking up MultiMangaverse and Comic Book Chronicles again and continuing those too. Bit by bit, step by step and you can look forward to that. Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your week and take care.
